At Loughton Surgery, we offer a wide range of clinics and services to support your long-term health. Many of these are run by our experienced practice nurses, healthcare clinicians, and GPs. Patients are seen by invitation, referral, or request depending on individual needs.
Asthma Care
Asthma is increasingly common in all age groups.
Your clinician will make the initial diagnosis and explain your treatment plan.
Ongoing care includes:
- Inhaler technique reviews
- Regular lung function checks
- GP referrals where needed
Cancer Care
We work closely with hospital specialists and St Clare Hospice to provide compassionate, coordinated care for patients living with cancer.
Cervical Screening (Smears)
We recommend all eligible women have a smear test every 3 years, or more frequently if medically advised.

COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease)
Patients with COPD are advised to attend at least one review annually to ensure their breathing is well-managed.
Coronary Heart Disease (CHD)
Annual reviews are essential for patients with heart disease. We aim to:
- Reduce risk factors
- Optimise medication
- Offer lifestyle advice
Diabetes Care
Annual reviews include:
- Blood and urine tests
- Blood pressure & cholesterol checks
- Foot checks
- Medication reviews
- Lifestyle and dietary advice
Epilepsy
Patients with epilepsy should have regular check-ups at the surgery or hospital to ensure their condition is well controlled.
Hypertension (High Blood Pressure)
We recommend:
- Blood pressure checks every 6 months
- Annual blood tests to monitor overall health
Hypothyroidism
Patients with underactive thyroids should have annual blood tests to ensure their treatment remains effective.
Mental Health Support
Patients with mental health conditions are encouraged to attend at least one review per year to monitor both physical and emotional wellbeing.
